Afterschool Licensed Child Care Centers

The Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare has approved licensure of the aforementioned sites to operate. The City of Philadelphia’s Department of Human Services funds the sites. The Afterschool Licensed Child Care Centers serve children in grades K-5, Monday through Friday from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm. Additionally, a six-week summer day camp program is offered.  These non-school hour programs are designed to increase children’s safety and security; interrupt the attraction of harmful behaviors, such as smoking, drinking, drug use, and sexual activity; improve graduation rates and improve interest in and connection to school.  These programs target youth that are currently involved with or potential Department of Human Services clients.  The overall focus of the program is to reduce and prevent future involvement with social services, reduce delinquency and violence.
