Licensed After School Child Care Centers
The Licensed After School Child Care Centers serve 140 children in grades K-5, Monday through Friday from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at two school district locations. These non-school hour programs are designed to increase children’s safety and security; interrupt the attraction of harmful behaviors, such as smoking, drinking, drug use, and sexual activity; improve graduation rates and improve interest in and connection to school. These programs target youth who are currently involved with Department of Human Services and potential clients. The overall focus of the program is to reduce and prevent future involvement with social services, reduce delinquency and violence. The centers also houses a six-week summer camp program.
