Education Leading to Employment and Career Training/Cradle To Classroom (ELECT/CTC)

Description
ELECT/CTC is a statewide initiative of Pennsylvania's Departments of Public Welfare and Education and is administered locally as a partnership between the School District of Philadelphia and Communities In Schools of Philadelphia, Inc. ELECT/CTC results from the Family Support Act of 1988, which emphasizes the need to strengthen families and promote self-sufficiency.

ELECT/CTC delivers specialized academic and social services to non-traditional students with the goal of helping them finish high school and become successful adults. Presentations and seminars are offered in collaboration with academic, health, civic, governmental and community organizations. Incorporating families into the ELECT/CTC program ensures holistic delivery of services.

The goal of ELECT/CTC is to assist both teen mothers and fathers in completing their high school education and making successful school-to-work transitions.
All ELECT/CTC programs throughout the state, are expected to meet or exceed the following outcomes for graduation, student grade-point average, school retention, attendance and achievement:
