Lead Social Service Advisor
SUMMARY:
The Lead Social Service Advisor for Communities In Schools of Philadelphia (CISP) is an off-site exempt position under direct supervision the Director of Education.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Effectively implement policies and procedures of the CISP organization and partnering collaborators: Department of Human Services, Family Court, Philadelphia Youth Network and School District of Philadelphia.
- Provide direct supervision and oversight for Advisors
- Provide training and professional development workshop, seminars, etc for Advisors
- Oversee and ensure all student receive appropriate case management support including: social service referrals, follow-up and guidance
- Coordinate outreach efforts with CISP Education Center staff to community based organizations, educational institutions, probation and/or reintegration officers and other significant support systems
- Serve as an external ambassador for the CISP Education Center and Communities In Schools of Philadelphia, Inc.
- Provide case management services for a small group of students
- Review, compile, audit all case files and computer databases to ensure compliance and accuracy with implementation of program services
- Prepare written reports
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong critical thinking and common sense problem solving
- Demonstrated management experience
- Strong case management, training & development experience
- Extensive youth development and out of school youth knowledge
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Strong ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to effectively navigate and utilize Macintosh and PC computer applications
- Recent knowledge of the juvenile justice agencies, services and laws
- Knowledge of workforce development practices and philosophies especially as they relate to youth
- Knowledge of Balanced and Restorative Justice (BARJ) principles and practices
- Ability to work with diverse at risk adolescents and young adults
- Ability to work in a multidiscipline environment
- Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
- Ability to set appropriate limits and boundaries with students
- Ability to work flexible hours as required
REQUIRED CREDENTIALS:
- Completion of Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum three years of demonstrated supervisory and case management experience with a fast paced, youth focused agency.

SALARY RANGE:
$50,000 - $53,000
