Message From the President
CISP works with students and families that may be underserved, by creating additional opportunities for success through our various programs. All CISP programs are designed to meet the needs of our students by bringing social services and supplemental academic resources into the schools. To do this, CISP develops partnerships with federal and state agencies, community-based organizations, small businesses, and large corporations. Our staff is highly qualified, diverse, and committed to serving young people. Most importantly, our programs work. Attendance rates, grade point averages, and graduation rates are positively affected by our specialized programs. Through the valuable one-on-one relationships our staff develops with students, students who may have been at risk of failing or dropping out of school, begin to recognize the need for education and begin to take an active role in their own personal and educational development. Students begin to go to school with a renewed interest in academics and career preparation. Ultimately they become proud owners of diplomas, backed by academic foundations, marketable skills, and career aspirations. What our experience has shown is that working together as a community to support our young people causes the kind of positive results that we want for our students and for our communities as a whole. I sincerely thank all of the community members, professional partners, staff members, and students who help us fulfill the Communities In Schools mission. Please browse our website to find out more about the programs and events that are helping to shape the lives of so many Philadelphia students. We appreciate your interest in learning how CISP helps students stay in school and prepare for life. Sincerely, |
